International Student Track

If you are an international student (high school, transfer or LPN to BSN), here is what you will need:

  • Your ACT or SAT score. Hesston College offers an alternative (ACCUPLACER) which you can take remotely if you don’t have ACT or SAT scores.
  • Your high school and college transcripts with at least 50 college credits by the time you enter the program. See prerequisite list below.
  • If you are an LPN, current LPN license allowing practice in Kansas.
  • TOEFL score.

International Student Nursing Admission

FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

  • Meet all high school student admission criteria.
  • Achieve a score of 525 on the paper-based TOEFL, or 70 on the internet-based TOEFL, or 5.5 on the IELTS. International applicants whose native language is English, or who have earned a high school diploma or GED in the United States, do not need to present evidence of English language proficiency.

 

FOR TRANSFER STUDENTS

  • Meet all transfer student admission criteria.
  • Applicants whose native language is not English must provide one of the following:
    • A high school diploma or GED earned in the United States, or
    • An iBT with minimum scores of 19 in Reading and 20 in Listening, Speaking and Writing.

 

FOR LPN TO BSN STUDENTS

  • Meet all LPN to BSN admission criteria.
  • Applicants whose native language is not English must provide one of the following:
    • A high school diploma or GED earned in the United States, or
    • An iBT with minimum scores of 19 in Reading and 20 in Listening, Speaking and Writing, or
    • Evidence of English language proficiency from an LPN program to be evaluated by the Nursing Admissions Committee.

Principles of Nutrition (3 hours)
College Algebra (3 hours)
Elementary Statistics (3 hours)
Introductory Chemistry or General Chemistry I (4 hours)
Anatomy and Physiology (5 hours)
Pathophysiology (3 hours)
Microbiology (4 hours)
Plus General Electives (6 hours) – to bring total of above courses to 60 hours

Additional Liberal Education and Support Course Requirement 

(not required before entering BSN program)
Biblical Literature (3 hours) – must be taken at Hesston College.
