Jeff Baumgartner is a dedicated mathematics educator with a passion for problem solving and student growth. His journey into teaching began as a problem session leader in Statistics at Bethel College, where he discovered the joy of helping students overcome challenges and develop confidence in their abilities. Jeff has been a faculty member at Hesston College since 1997, drawing on his experiences in the U.S. and abroad, including three years teaching in Egypt with Mennonite Central Committee. He has served in various leadership roles on campus, as chair of the natural sciences department and as chair of the curriculum committee. He has also participated in the AP Calculus exam reading for over 25 years. His teaching philosophy emphasizes perseverance, practical application and fostering independence in learning.
