Coaches at Hesston play a vital role in shaping the student experience — mentoring student-athletes, building and retaining strong rosters and contributing to a culture of accountability, character and success on and off the field.

Your Role

The Women’s Basketball Assistant Coach works closely with the head coach to support all aspects of the women’s basketball program. Responsibilities include providing individual skill development, assisting with practice planning and game preparation, supporting recruiting efforts, helping maintain equipment and facilities, assisting with team travel and transportation and promoting the health, safety and academic success of student-athletes. As the program continues to grow, the assistant coach may have the opportunity to lead a developmental or JV team.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous coaching and/or playing experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to mentoring student-athletes within a Christ-centered environment.

This position is flexible and may be offered on a stipend basis, depending on the candidate’s qualifications and availability.
