Your Role
The Softball Assistant Coach is responsible for coaching the pitching staff and assisting the head coach in all aspects of the program. These duties include developing pitching training programs, providing individualized instruction, assisting with game preparation and in-game strategy and supporting recruiting efforts. Additional duties: helping with practice planning, team travel, field and equipment maintenance and monitoring team lifts, while ensuring the health and safety of student-athletes and compliance with institutional, conference and NAIA regulations. The role also emphasizes fostering a positive team culture focused on sportsmanship, discipline and personal growth.
Qualifications
- Collegiate playing experience as a pitcher and/or coaching experience at the high school or college level
- Strong knowledge of pitching mechanics, injury prevention and player development
- Excellent communication, leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to work evenings, weekends and travel as required
This position is flexible and may be offered as three-quarter time (0.75 FTE) or on a stipend basis, depending on the candidate’s qualifications and availability.
