
Assistant Athletic Director
Hesston College seeks an organized, experienced and student-focused professional to serve as Assistant Athletic Director. This position plays a key leadership role in supporting the athletic department’s daily operations, enhancing student-athlete experiences and promoting a healthy culture where our student- athletes achieve success academically and athletically and grow holistically as individuals. The assistant athletic director will collaborate closely with the athletic director, coaches, staff and campus leadership to ensure compliance, effective communication and program development. 2025-26 represents the first year of competition for Hesston College as a 4-year school and member of the NAIA. The assistant athletic director will provide important leadership to the intercollegiate athletic program as we grow into our new 4-year model. This is a full-time, 12-month, benefits eligible position, beginning summer 2026.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist in the overall administration and management of the athletic department.
- Support recruitment, retention and development of student-athletes.
- Oversee game-day operations and event coordination.
- Support compliance efforts with institutional, conference and governing body regulations.
- Assist with budgeting and fundraising efforts.
- Help coordinate various arrangements and logistics for athletic teams.
- Foster a culture in the athletic department that promotes academic achievement, character development and spiritual growth among student-athletes.
- Demonstrate strong commitment to student athletes’ academic success and strong support for the strategic goals and mission of Hesston College.
This is a new role for Hesston College and certain administrative responsibilities will be developed depending on the experience and skill set of the chosen candidate.
Candidate Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required and master’s degree preferred.
- 3+ years of relevant athletic leadership and administrative experience.
- Strong commitment to student development and the mission of Hesston College.
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability and desire to work collaboratively across campus.
