The Straight A’s, a folk/pop band from Goshen, Ind., perform at a coffeehouse in the Campus Worship Center in honor of Marion Bontrager. Mitchell and Walker became friends as members of the men’s basketball team and are now roommates and playing basketball at Bethel College (North Newton, Kan.). Matt Schloneger ’92, music faculty member and Fjaere Harder ’05 Nussbaum perform “Anything You Can Do” from Annie Get Your Gun at the Performing Arts Showcase. Harder Nussbaum is a television and music theatre actor. Other performers at the event, emceed by Andrea Springer ’80, were the Hesston College Bel Canto Singers, Chorale and the Chamber Orchestra and The Sunflower Trio, comprised of music faculty members Matt and Rebecca Schloneger and Ken Rodgers ’85. Emily Kauffman ’16 (Pettisville, Ohio) thanks the Bertha Bontrager Rhodes (Goshen, Ind.) family for their many years of financial support to the college. A plaque was placed on campus in their honor at a spot where all the buildings to which they have contributed over the years can be seen.
