Hesston College seeks a Nursing Academic Assistant. The nursing academic assistant provides support for the day-to-day operations of the nursing program. This role includes assisting the nursing education director, faculty and students with administrative tasks to ensure appropriate nursing program standards are met. The academic assistant is an advocate for the nursing program by maintaining a positive and welcoming attitude.
Key responsibilities:
- Program advocate – promotes positive relationships within the program and with health care agencies and community constituents
- Academic support for faculty – assists with course administrative tasks, coordinates and distributes lab rotations and course communications with students
- Support for student clinical placement – maintains agency relationships and communication, coordinates arrangements for clinical components of each course and clinical eligibility paperwork
- Support for nursing program accreditation compliance
- Support for nursing education director
This position requires professionalism and confidentiality. The nursing academic assistant is key to the smooth function of the program and their care for and ability to support faculty and students while balancing tasks with tight deadlines will be central to their success in this role. Our goal is to find someone with an associate degree or higher and professional work experience. A working background in education or health services is preferred.
