Aviation Professor – Adjunct

Hesston College and the School of Aviation seek to build a cadre of adjunct Aviation Professors to provide substantive, engaging in-class and online instruction for students enrolled in both its Bachelor of Science and Associate of Applied Arts and Sciences aviation degree programs. The scope of courses to be taught is consistent with aeronautical knowledge requirements for airman certification per Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Parts 61 and 141, as well as academic course material specific to Institutions of Higher Education, as stipulated in the amended FAA Advisory Circular (AC) 61.139.

Candidates interested in an adjunct faculty position must possess a master’s degree in aviation, aeronautics or related field, with recent aviation industry experience. Qualified candidates must also possess an FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate – Airplane Single and Multiengine Land, an FAA Instrument Rating – Airplane and an FAA Certificated Flight Instructor certificate with Airplane Single and Multiengine and Instrument Airplane ratings. Demonstrated teaching competencies at the collegiate level or equivalent and a commitment to student-centered instruction are required for consideration.
