About Us: Located 30 minutes north of Wichita, Kansas, Hesston College is a private, Christian liberal arts college that operates on a mixed model. Your Role: The Controller is responsible for managing primary business office functions, institutional accounting and day-to-day management and oversight of other key finance, banking and risk management areas. This position directly supervises the payroll and student accounts managers.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to the business office ensuring appropriate policies and procedures remain in place and are consistently applied
  • Maintain institutional accounting systems and related financial records
  • Maintain appropriate systems for cash management, banking and insurance (in coordination with the vp of finance)
  • Serve as the key liaison between the business office and other departments
  • Lead and assist with endowment management, health insurance and retirement plan

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (finance, accounting, business administration, management) is required.
  • 5+ years of related experience is required.
  • Should be strong in the areas of technology, communication, data management and process management, and be organized with a focus on efficiency. Should also have a working knowledge of the “Uniform Guidance” found at 2 CFR 200.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in relevant field.
  • 5+ years of related experience, including leadership and managerial experience relevant to private higher education setting
