The Hesston College Theater Department will present “An Evening of One Acts” April 30-May 2. The one-act plays will be performed on campus in the Studio Theater in Northlawn at 7 p.m., Thursday, April 30, and Friday, May 2, and at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 2.

Puente Negro is directed by Hannah Titus, a sophomore from Roland, Iowa, to help the college campus and community understand the controversial topic of immigration, whether legal or illegal. This drama concerns a group of illegal immigrants crossing the border from Mexico to the U.S. Each member of the group has hopes and dreams that push them to the futures that lay ahead of them. However, their biggest fear is and should be La Migra, the border patrol. The drama is rated PG.

The Actor’s Nightmare is directed by Brandan Harvey, a freshman from Walton, Kan. In the drama, George, an unassuming accountant, finds himself thrust on stage to replace an absent actor, but has no knowledge of lines, plot, or even the play he’s supposed to perform. Neither the other actors nor the stage manager offer much help, and, to make matters worse, the play keeps changing. This drama is also rated PG.
