College announces new faculty and staff appointments

Hesston College announces the following new faculty and staff appointments for the 2010-11 school year.

Justin (JR) Allen of Newton, plumbing and heating specialist. He earned his HVAC/R technician degree from Vatterott College (Wichita, Kan.). He previously worked at R & M Heating and Cooling in Russell, Kan.

Becky Bartell of Hesston, nursing faculty. She earned a B.S.N. from Bethel College (North Newton, Kan.). She works at Newton Medical Center in addition to her teaching duties.

Janine Coblentz of Hesston, resident director in Erb Hall. She earned her A.A. from Hesston College and holds a B.A. in Spanish with a secondary education endorsement from Goshen (Ind.) College. She previously taught high school Spanish in San Antonio, Texas.

Dr. Robert Enns of Hesston, sociology faculty. He earned his A.A. degree from Reedley (Calif.) College, his B.A., M.A., and Ph.D in sociology from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a B.D. in theology from Fuller Theological Seminary (Pasadena, Calif.). He most recently served as professor of sociology at Fresno State University in Fresno, Calif.

Megan Gongwer of Hesston, campus activities director, Larks Nest manager, assistant women’s soccer coach. She graduated from Hesston College in 2008. She most recently spent a year in Mennonite Voluntary Service in Alamosa, Colo.

Dan Harrison of Wichita, campus counselor. He earned his A.A. from Hesston College, his B.A. from Tabor College (Hillsboro, Kan.) and his M.A. in education and counseling from Wichita State. He will also continue in his roles as psychology instructor and head women’s basketball coach.

Jeanelle Herrell of Hillsboro, education and psychology faculty. She has a B.A. from Wichita State University, an M.A. in Professional Counseling from Doane College (Crete, Neb.), and she anticipates graduating from Emporia (Kan.) State University this year with an Ed.S. in school psychology. In addition to teaching, she also works at United Methodist Youthville in Newton.

Rachel Jantzi of Newton, speech communication faculty. She earned her B.F.A. from Emporia State University and her M.A. in communications, speech and theatre from Oklahoma State University. She also teaches speech at Tabor College and works as a choreographer for musicals throughout the area.

Laura Kraybill of Hesston, theatre and speech faculty. She earned her B.A. from Goshen College in communications with a focus in theatre and ministry and a minor in vocal performance, and an M.A. in theatre education from Emerson College (Boston, Mass.). She most recently worked with the Boston Children’s Theatre.

Julie Lehman of Hesston, campus counselor. She earned her A.A. from Hesston College, B.A. from Eastern Mennonite University (Harrisonburg, Va.), and M.A. in social work from the University of Kansas. She most recently worked as a group and individual therapist for adolescents at Prairie View in Newton.

Shane Miller of Hesston, resident director for Kauffman Court. He holds a B.A. in communications from Tabor College.

Russ Neufeld of Newton, network manager. He earned his A.A. from Hesston College. He most recently worked for Vision Computer Integration in Newton as system engineer, preceded by more than 10 years with Mennonite Mission Network, Mennonite Board of Missions and Mennonite Media in Web development and IT.

Cindy Reimer of Hesston is working in food service.

Rachel Schlegel of Hesston, public information officer and Title III administrative assistant. She earned her A.A. from Hesston College and a B.A in English from Eastern Mennonite University. She most recently worked for three years as an admissions counselor at Hesston College.

Andrew Sharp of Hesston, Phon-a-thon coordinator. He earned his A.A. from Hesston College, a B.A. from Millersville (Pa.) University, and an M.A. in Sports Administration from Wichita State University. He will continue in his roles as Sports Information Director and head softball coach.

Teresa Siemens of Buhler is working in food service.

Roxanne Stauffer of Hesston, admissions counselor. She earned her A.A. from Hesston College and a B.A. in communications from Tabor College.

Angela Teeter of Hesston, Kropf Center academic assistant. She earned her A.A. from Hesston College and a B.A. in accounting from Goshen College. She most recently worked as the administrative assistant for South Central Mennonite Conference.

Randy Toews of Hesston is working in environmental services.

Rachel Yoder of Hesston, admissions counselor. She earned her A.A. from Hesston College and a B.A. in digital media from Eastern Mennonite University.
