The Hesston College Aviation Department announced the latest achievements of student pilots.
Spencer Hill of Goshen, Ind., earned his private pilot license on March 10. Hill is a 2011 graduate of Hesston’s Air Traffic Control program. He is the son of Thomas and Rachele Hill of Goshen, Ind.
Micah Cusick of Newton, Kan., achieved his first solo flight on March 8. With his latest accomplishment, Cusick will continue work toward his private pilot license.
Nathan Holmes of Elbing, Kan., achieved his first solo flight on March 24. With his latest accomplishment, Holmes will continue work toward his private pilot license.
Johnathan Berkholz of Goessel, Kan., achieved his first solo flight on April 9. Berkholz is a freshman in Hesston’s aviation program. He is the son of Carol Berkholz of Goessel. With his latest accomplishment, Berkholz will continue work toward his private pilot license.
Hesston College offers flight training and air traffic control programs. Flight training holds FAA certification in single-engine land Private Pilot, Commercial Pilot and Instrument Rating courses, as well as fixed-wing private pilot through airline transport pilot certifications. The air traffic control program is one of 36 Collegiate Training Initiative programs in the country, and the only one in Kansas to gain FAA approval.
