John Drescher coming to Hesston College January 23-26

      John Drescher, well-known Mennonite pastor, church leader, and author, will be on the Hesston College campus January 23-26.
      Drescher is scheduled to speak during the 11 a.m. chapels Monday, January 24 and Wednesday, January 26. His topic Monday is "Why I am a Conscientious Objector," the title of a booklet he wrote. Wednesday, he will talk about "True Love vs. Infatuation."
      Drescher will also meet with Pastoral Ministries students at Hesston College Sunday evening, January 23, and will speak in several Pastoral Ministries and Bible classes Jan. 24-26.
      In addition, Drescher will speak at a Schowalter Villa service at 3 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 25.
      While in Hesston, Drescher will also be guest speaker at the 8:15 and 10:45 morning worship services of Whitestone Mennonite Church, as well as the 9:40 Sunday school hour.
      Drescher, from Quakertown, Pa., has served as pastor in four congregations. He and his wife Betty (Keener) completed their sixth interim pastorate last August.
      Drescher has been bishop or overseer in three conferences, moderator of the Mennonite Church in North America, editor of Gospel Herald, and seminary teacher.
      He has authored 37 books, of which more than a dozen relate to husband and wife, and parent and child relationships. Other books deal with spiritual renewal and growth.
      Drescher has written articles for more than 100 different magazines. He has served in conventions, retreats, seminars, and in spiritual renewal services in the United States and a number of other countries.
      Dreschers are the parents of five married children, and have 14 grandchildren.
