Three of the most original instrumentalists to ever mutate out of the gene pool join forces to breathe new life into the time-honored piano trio tradition. Featured are, from the Turtle Island String Quartet, electric violinist Tracy Silverman; from the Paul Winter Consort, two-time Grammy winning cellist Eugene Friesen; and Windham Hill recording artist and Grammy nominee Phil Aaberg on piano.

         This program is funded in part by the Kansas Arts Commission, a state agency, and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency which believes a great nation deserves great art, and the National Dance Project of the New England Foundation for the Arts, with lead funding from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and additional funding from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the Ford Foundation, and the Community Connections fund of the MetLife Foundation. Other sponsoring organizations include Excel Industries and Hustler Turf Equipment, Mid-America Arts Alliance, and the cities of Hesston and North Newton.
      Additional funding for the HBPA series is provided by area patrons.

 

Hesston-Bethel Performing Arts     The series started in 1982 as Hesston Performing Arts (HPA) with funding and planning provided by Hesston College and the Hesston community. In 1998 HPA planners launched a partnership with Bethel College, and the series name changed to Hesston-Bethel Performing Arts. Hesston College in Hesston and Bethel College in North Newton host performances each year.
